Action:

If your dog or cat tears their nail or if you cut it too short while grooming, an easy home remedy is cornstarch. Apply pressure to the nail bed to temporarily stop the bleeding. Then, using a Q-tip or a gauze pad, apply or pack the nail with cornstarch. You may also use commercial products such as Kwik Stop or a styptic stick.
